Automotive GPS
There are a few different types of Automotive GPS Devices to choose from. The Factory GPS Navigation system is now either a standard or optional piece of equipment in many of the newer vehicles. These navigation systems are built right into the dash of the car. The built-in option allows for larger screens and are specifically built for use in vehicles. There is also the option to purchase an Aftermarket GPS Navigation system, which can also be installed in the cars dash, so if you are looking for the in dash option this is another way to go. These aftermarket systems may also offer other features, such as playing DVDs or satellite radio options. The Portable GPS Navigation system is one usually mounts to either the windshield or the dashboard. These devices allow themselves to be used in multiple vehicles, and can be removed to prevent theft. Portable units tend to have smaller screens, and may not offer all the same options as the integrated built-in units. There are many software options that also allow consumers to use their mobile phones and PDAs as portable GPS devices for their vehicles. A growing technology is the Two-Way GPS Navigation system, which uses Wi-Fi technology to access current information in regards to maps and traffic. These days everyone seems to be using Automotive GPS Devices to help navigate there way around. They are not limited to any one group in particular. The advantages of these devices include finding the most direct route to take when traveling, as well as allowing us to pinpoint our location when we are in need of help.
